Owner and Principle Instructor, Michele Foshee, is an accomplished artist, illustrator and graphic designer with more than 10 years of experience in art and as a college level instructor. As owner of her own design studio, Michele had a client list that includes such notable names as the Smithsonian National Zoo, National Geographic, Sea World Parks, National Park Service and the White House (see some of Michele's work here). Most recently, she left her position as Art Director for a local environmental consulting firm in order to pursue her dream of opening her own art studio. ArtventureUs! Social Painting Studio opened its doors in January 2012. Michele lives in Germantown with her husband and their two children.
Assistant Instructor, Kirstin Bowers, is a working artist and art student completing her final year of studies at McDaniel College. Kirstin has been selling her fine art, illustrations, and crafts for more than five years. Her technical skills, coupled with her love of teaching, has made Kirstin a standout in the studio. She has been mentored by Michele and has blossomed into an outstanding instructor. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, Kirstin is looking to further her education by pursing an advanced degree in art education. Kirstin teaches the majority of our Simple Strokes and Not as Simple Strokes sessions, as well as some of our Spirited Strokes sessions.
